Tutoring

The tutoring service encompasses a broad range of support activities designed to make university studies more effective and productive, offering assistance to overcome any difficulties and to encourage full participation in all aspects of university life. The service provides guidance and support through various initiatives and activities, such as those listed on the website.

Below are some tutoring initiatives common to multiple degree programmes; for any programme-specific initiatives, please consult the individual course pages under “Tutoring.”

To use the service, you must schedule an appointment by writing to otp.medtorino@unito.it.

At the beginning of the academic year, a Welcome event for new students is organized for each degree programme, during which the Programme Directors and academic coordinators greet the incoming students and introduce the educational offer, the organization of teaching activities, and the support services.

For more information, please visit the degree programme websites.

The service is aimed at first-year students and is designed to support them in taking their first steps at the University by removing obstacles to academic success. First-year students are paired with tutors—high-achieving students enrolled in the final year of the corresponding degree programmes—who provide:

  • information on UniTO services
  • support in liaising with teaching staff, academic bodies, and administrative offices
  • assistance with completing the course plan
  • logistical and administrative information

The service is activated each year for certain degree programmes. For more information, write to otp.medtorino@unito.it.

The service is designed to support students who enrol after the start of the academic year or who are newly registered in years beyond the first, with the aim of preventing delays in graduation and/or drop-out. These students are paired with tutors—high-achieving students—who provide the following services and activities:

  • information on UniTO services
  • support in liaising with teaching staff, academic bodies, and administrative offices
  • logistical and administrative information
  • details on lectures, exams, and internships
  • guidance on procedures for requesting credit transfers and other administrative requirements for their academic career (study plan and fees)
  • individual assessment and support to make up teaching activities in full or in part
  • in collaboration with the relevant teaching staff, support to facilitate disciplinary realignment, including:
    • assistance with using self-assessment tools to verify that learning objectives have been met for the subjects to be recovered

The service is activated each year for certain degree programmes. For more information, write to otp.medtorino@unito.it.

The service consists of tutoring and in-depth sessions to guide the choice of post-graduate pathways. It is offered to students enrolled in single-cycle Master’s degree programmes (Medicine and Surgery at the Turin and Orbassano campuses; Medicine and Surgery and Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics) and to Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes in Biotechnology.

Orientation meetings are organised to present the Specialisation Schools (for single-cycle programmes) and relevant institutions and companies (for the Biotechnology programmes). The activities also include a focus on how to structure your thesis and on selecting your field according to your future career needs (e.g., how to identify a host institution; how to apply; how to plan the thesis project).

For more information, please visit the websites of the following degree programmes:
